Parasza tego tygodnia mówi o ostatniej pladze egipskiej, która jest jednocześnie początkiem naszego wyjścia z Egiptu:

I rzekł Mojżesz: “Tak rzecze Wiekuisty: około północy Ja wystąpię w pośród Micraimu. A umrze wszelki pierworodny w ziemi Micraim, od pierworodnego Faraona, który miał zasiadać na tronie jego, aż do pierworodnego niewolnicy, który przy żarnach jest, i wszelkie pierworodne z bydła. A będzie krzyk wielki po całej ziemi Micraim, jakiego nie było i jakiego nie będzie więcej. Ale na wszystkich synów Israela nie zaostrzy pies języka swojego, ani na człowieka, ani na bydlę, abyście poznali, jaki rozdział czyni Wiekuisty między Micrejczykami, i między Israelem. Thoughts on Parashat Shemot

Our people in our homeland are suffering. More than half a million Israelis have been displaced since October 7th forced to abandon their homes and to live in hotels across the country. Some of them were able to return to their homes, some of them are still displaced. Besides more than 1200 innocent civilians murdered in cold blood on that very day, already 509 Israeli soldiers, officers and reservists have been killed in the war with Hamas. All of that means suffering of many many more people. The war, with a possible threat of escalation on the northern front as well, affects everyone who lives in the country.[…]

Refleksja nad paraszą Szemot

Od 7 października ponad pół miliona Izraelczyków zostało wysiedlonych, zmuszonych do opuszczenia swoich domów i zamieszkania w hotelach w całym kraju. Część z nich mogła wrócić do swoich domów, część nadal przebywa w miejscach tymczasowych. Nie licząc ponad 1200 niewinnych cywilów z zimną krwią zamordowanych tego dnia, w wojnie z Hamasem zginęło już 509 izraelskich żołnierzy, oficerów i rezerwistów.[…]
